ISUZU VIETNAM UPDATES ISUZU D-MAX AND MU-X 2026 LINE-UPS: MORE CHOICE, ENHANCED DRIVING EXPERIENCE AND SAFETY

Ho Chi Minh City, August 3, 2026 – ISUZU Vietnam Co., Ltd. (“ISUZU Vietnam”) announces updates to its 2026 D-MAX and MU-X line-ups in the Vietnamese market.

The 2026 D-MAX line-up now includes six variants, with the addition of D-CARGO 1000 and UTR 800 for commercial use. The other variants also receive design and equipment updates. Meanwhile, the 2026 MU-X line-up is streamlined to four variants, with steering and safety upgrades designed to make everyday driving easier and more reassuring.

2026 ISUZU D-MAX – MORE CHOICE, WITH UPDATES FROM DESIGN TO DRIVER-ASSISTANCE TECHNOLOGY

The 2026 D-MAX line-up consists of Type Z, Hi-Lander, Prestige, UTZ 800, UTR 800 and D-CARGO 1000. Together, the six variants cover a wide range of needs, from cargo transport and mixed work-and-daily use to 4×4 driving.

The UTR 800 and D-CARGO 1000 expand the available choices for customers who use their vehicles for business.

The UTR 800 features a 4×2 Crew Cab configuration with a payload capacity of 790 kg. It is equipped with a standard cargo-bed liner and a rear bumper with an integrated two-step access platform. These features help protect the cargo-bed surface and make it easier to access the cargo area.

The D-CARGO 1000 features a 4×2 Single Cab configuration. In its standard cargo-bed configuration, the vehicle provides a payload capacity of 1,095 kg and a cargo-bed length of 2,330 mm, adding a new one-ton cargo-carrying ị inner-city option to the D-MAX line-up.

A stronger exterior with a more distinctive identity

On the Prestige, Hi-Lander and Type Z, the grille design has been refined with sharper character lines while retaining its large, wide profile, reinforcing the vehicle’s bold front-end appearance. The Bi-LED headlamps receive new design accents, while the front bumper and fog-lamp bezels with integrated air curtains have also been revised. Together, these changes create a stronger and more modern appearance.

The front air curtains help better guide and control airflow around the front end and front wheels, contributing to lower aerodynamic drag and turbulence while the vehicle is moving.

At the rear, the three-tier LED rear lamps help the vehicle look wider and make it easier to recognize from behind. Details such as the tailgate camera trim and side steps have also been refined to complete the overall design.

The Hi-Lander and Type Z are equipped with newly designed 18-inch alloy wheels. The new Inishmore Green exterior color is also added to the range, offering another choice for customers who prefer a distinctive and modern style.

A modern cabin with greater everyday convenience

Depending on the variant, the 2026 D-MAX cabin features refreshed Miura-ori patterns and new color accents across the dashboard, door trim, seat surfaces and other interior details.

On the Hi-Lander and Type Z, the 7-inch multi-information display works together with the 9-inch infotainment display. The system supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, allowing users to connect their smartphones and access entertainment functions more easily.

USB Type-C charging ports are provided depending on the variant, supporting the everyday device-charging needs of the driver and passengers.

Lighter steering while maintaining stability

The Type Z is equipped with Electric Power Steering (EPS). Its assist motor is mounted directly to the steering rack, with the level of assistance adjusted according to driving conditions.

At low speeds, the steering feels lighter, making it easier to turn, park or maneuver in tight spaces. As vehicle speed increases, the system maintains a firmer and more stable steering feel, helping reduce steering effort during regular use.

On the Hi-Lander and Type Z, the 265/60R18 tires use a new tread-rubber compound that helps reduce rolling resistance while improving grip on wet or slippery roads. This change supports fuel efficiency and provides a more stable and reassuring driving experience, especially on longer journeys.

Expanded driver assistance on Type Z

The D-MAX Type Z is equipped with a fourth-generation stereo camera for its Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). The camera can detect objects in daylight at distances of up to 150 m and provides a horizontal field of view of up to 120 degrees, expanding the vehicle’s monitoring area ahead.

Driver-assistance features on the Type Z include:

  • Front-collision support: Forward Collision Warning and Autonomous Emergency Braking (FCW/AEB), Pedal Misapplication Mitigation (PMM), and Automatic High Beam (AHB).
  • Long-distance driving support: Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), and Lane Support System (LSS).
  • Reversing support: Rear Cross Traffic Braking (RCTB), which can detect a potential collision risk and apply the brakes in certain situations.

Driver-assistance systems do not replace the driver’s responsibility to remain alert, assess traffic conditions and operate the vehicle safely.

2026 ISUZU MU-X – ENHANCED DRIVING CONVENIENCE AND SAFETY

The 2026 MU-X line-up consists of four variants: B7 Plus 4×2, Sport 4×4, Prestige 4×2 and Premium 4×4.

The Prestige and Premium variants are equipped with Electric Power Steering (EPS), which operates on same principle and  benefits as ISUZU D-MAX Type Z.

The Prestige and Premium are upgraded to a seven-airbag system. This includes front airbags for the driver and front passenger, front-seat side airbags, curtain airbags on both sides, and a driver’s knee airbag.

The Prestige and Premium are also equipped with the Lane Support System (LSS). The system uses a front camera to recognize road markings and provides gentle steering assistance to help keep the vehicle within its lane.

The system helps reduce the risk of unintended lane departure caused by distraction or fatigue, especially when driving on highways or long-distance roads.

Driver-assistance systems do not replace the driver’s responsibility to remain alert and operate the vehicle safely.
